The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006, which will outlaw age discrimination in the workplace, have now been published by the Department of Trade and Industry. The regulations will come into force on 1 October 2006.
There will be no upper limit to the compensation payable if an employer is found guilty of age discrimination under the new legislation.
