Sydney Mitchell Charity Quiz raises £2000 for Headway West Midlands.
Leading West Midlands law firm Sydney Mitchell has presented a cheque for £2000 to Headway West Midlands following their 4th annual charity quiz, raising much needed funds for one of its nominated charities. Over 30 teams took part in an action packed night, taking their chances, and playing their joker cards in a very strategic quiz game.
Jonathan Simpson, Partner, Sydney Mitchell commented “Sydney Mitchell is always pleased to be able to support charity; each year we are astounded by the support local business community and clients give to this great cause. I am sure this money will make a difference in the lives of those affected by head injuries and their family supporters.”
Merito Financial Services were the overall winners of the quiz following a tie break “How many waste bins are there in Birmingham?” they were kept at bay by Cornwall Street Chambers and third place was won by Chadwick Nott.
Justin Powell from Headway commented "It was a fantastic night and the generous support of the Midlands professional services sector is very much appreciated. Sydney Mitchell continues to support our fundraising efforts year on year and we are very grateful to the work and effort everyone puts in to make the fundraising so successful. All the money we receive makes a significant impact for the people we support and helps us to enhance and develop our services.
Sean Maycock, Community Assistant for Headway added: “This year the money is going towards a new mini-bus, in fact the team are out shopping for it now! We are finding an increasing number of our brain injury sufferers having no family or support in the local area; the new mini bus will help them greatly in getting out and about. We are always on the look out for new staff and support, so if you would like more information please get in touch.”
