This year Sydney Mitchell will be supporting a local charity, set up by Diane Watt of AIB. The charity is The Maria Watt Birmingham Foundation for childhood and teenage leukaemia and was set up after the recent loss of Diane's daughter Maria.
The aims of this Charitable Trust are:
- To establish an ongoing fund which will provide funding for specific research into the causes of Leukaemia and other Cancers in Children and Teenagers.
- To raise awareness of these devastating illnesses.
- To provide support to Children & Teenagers battling this illness.
The charity has also set up a contact forum to offer help and advice to teenagers suffering from this cancer.
Throughout the year, representatives from Sydney Mitchell will be participating in various events in order to raise funds for the chosen charity. Recently members of the firm have taken part in the Knowle Fun Run, and in September a team of employees will be participating in the Warwickshire Triathlon.
